Luke Williams
Person-centred Psychotherapist (Kent and Online)
I am psychotherapist, counsellor, supervisor and group facilitator and I work in secondary and tertiary education and in private practice as 1-1 therapist, group facilitator and trainer. I have been working as a psychotherapist for 10 years and am a member of the UKCP (UK Council of Psychotherapy). I work with adults and adolescents and have worked at Universities, schools and youth counselling agencies. Aside from working with individuals 1-1 therapeutically and as a supervisor, I run a men’s group, reflective spaces, and various training sessions for client groups and professionals supporting in care roles. I am trained to Masters level in person-centred psychotherapy, and have also trained in various specialised areas including group-work, online counselling, trauma and supervision.
I believe that we all have the tools and desire to grow, learn and create change. This often requires open, sincere reflection and candour that I believe can only be achieved with a supportive, non-judgemental environment- who would be masochistic enough to embark on such a journey otherwise? Time and again I see that real, lasting positive change occurs not when we are ‘told’ but when this type of open, sincere, authentic exploration within ourselves is undertaken. This hard to do on own- our blind spots remain blind to us, and therefore reflective engagement with another or others is often the most powerful tool we have to help us on our way. So, my endeavour is always to create and foster this type of environment and use my skills, experience and presence to facilitate the authentic engagement and introspection necessary to enable profound change.
