With a professional journey spanning over four decades, Amanda specialist expertise is in the realm of mental health and support services. Her career is a mosaic of diverse roles, each underpinning her profound commitment to vulnerable clients, especially young people.
Amanda’s foundational years were marked by her invaluable work with families and children under five, including impactful roles in nurseries, outreach programs, and family assessment centres. Her proficiency in managing caseloads in various settings, such as semi-secure units and homes for looked-after children, is a testament to her organizational and empathetic approach.
A pivotal part of her career has been guiding young people towards fruitful paths in employment, education, and training and has extensive experience supporting clients with multifaceted needs – from substance misuse, youth offending, domestic violence and homelessness.
As a qualified counsellor, she has provided one-on-one counselling for both adults and young people, specializing in mental health, bereavement, and relationship issues. Her roles have spanned various specialized settings, including CAMHS nurse.
In recent years, Amanda has embraced the role of a Perinatal Nurse Practitioner, focusing on assessments for mothers during and post-pregnancy. Her holistic approach addresses a spectrum of mental health concerns, including PND, OCD, anxiety, and depression. She has also contributed significantly as a liaison nurse and staff nurse in diverse hospital settings, addressing the complex interplay of physical and mental health needs.
Amanda holds a BSc in Mental Health Nursing, along with various diplomas and certifications in counselling. Her continuous pursuit of knowledge and professional development has been pivotal in her journey to becoming a highly skilled and compassionate care provider.
